Lighting Issues

Troubleshooting for LED strip lighting — colors, brightness, modes, flicker and sync.

Solutions for the most common lighting problems with your LED strips. For setup and pairing topics, see Bluetooth Related Issues or the full User Manual.

What should I do if there is no response when switching colors and lighting modes?

Please troubleshoot in this order:

  1. Check the device connection status first.
  2. Restart the device and use the remote control — confirm whether there is any response.
  3. Restart both the device and your phone, then reconnect the control device and check again.

What if my lighting rig doesn't light up?

Please troubleshoot in this order:

  1. Make sure the cables and plugs are not damaged or pinched.
  2. Make sure the unit is powered on and the power plug is not loose.
  3. Make sure the ambient light's power cord is connected to the unit and is not loose.
  4. If the ambient light was installed improperly — twisted cables, pressure, etc. — it may have caused damage to the light.
  5. Prolonged use generates heat. If heat dissipation is poor, overheating may damage the lamp beads. Please follow the relevant safety procedures.

What should I do if the ambient light color is not right?

Tap the Edit button in the upper-right corner of the color palette page, then open Wires Order. There are six different R/G/B permutations — choose a different one and return to the palette. Tap the red, green and blue squares to verify the device shows the correct colors. If it still doesn't match, go back to Wires Order and try another arrangement, until the RGB squares match the device's actual output.

How do I adjust the low brightness of my lights?

  1. Check the device's power status first — confirm the supply voltage meets the requirements.
  2. Turn up the brightness with the remote control, or after the app connects to the device, slide the brightness bar in the app and watch for a change.
  3. If necessary, try restarting the device.

What if my lighting rig gets stuck?

Try restarting the device and your phone. Power off the device for 30 seconds, then reconnect and check for a response. The following can also cause this:

  1. Weak signal — too far away, router problems, or interference from many other wireless devices nearby (microwave ovens, phones, other Bluetooth devices), causing control commands to be lost or unresponsive.
  2. Device stuck under specific conditions — repeatedly clicking to send larger GIFs can exhaust the chip's memory, resulting in unresponsiveness or long response times.
  3. Device malfunction.

How can I modify the lights if they are too fast?

You can use the remote control or connect through the app to adjust the speed. When using app control, make sure the app and the device are connected properly.

Do the lights automatically change light patterns?

  1. Check whether the device is connected and controlled by someone else. Open the app and see whether the device can be discovered.
  2. Check whether someone is operating a remote control nearby — other types of remotes may also interfere with the device.
  3. If necessary, try restarting the device.

I have two lights set up as a group and the color changes are out of sync when I control them?

Set the red, green and blue static colors in order. If the device lights are not consistent, connect through the app, go to Edit Device Info → Wires Order, and modify the wires order.

If the lights are consistent but only delayed, try rebooting your phone and the device.

Why are my lights shaking?

Please check the following:

  1. Wave shaking at the end of the light strip — caused by voltage instability.
  2. High-frequency flickering across the whole strip — voltage instability or loose terminals.
  3. Periodic fluctuation of brightness — long running time triggering high-temperature current-drop protection.

Why are some lights dim on the same strip?

This may be caused by improper use. Please follow the relevant safety procedures:

  1. The strip is too long, causing a voltage drop at the end of the LED — insufficient power supply leads to dimming and yellowing.
  2. Bending or squeezing of the strip causes the internal copper foil to break, resulting in current blockage.
  3. Premature aging (light decay) of individual lamp beads — their brightness is lower than the others.
  4. Prolonged use generates heat. With poor heat dissipation, overheating may damage the lamp beads.

What about 2 colors on the same strip?

You can troubleshoot as follows:

  1. Power off the device for 30 seconds and re-power. In the color-mixing interface, select a solid color and check the strip display.
  2. Check whether the wiring is loose.
  3. Make sure there is no bending or squeezing where the strip is installed and fixed — this may partially break the internal copper foil and cause current blockage.

Why do the lights come on automatically?

  1. Check whether the device is connected and controlled by someone else. Open the app and see whether the device can be discovered.
  2. Check whether someone is operating a remote control nearby — other types of remotes may also interfere with the device.
  3. If necessary, try restarting the device.

Why are some colors not displayed?

Check for disconnections in the wires of the light strip and the controller.
