Remote Control Problems

Help with the physical remote — batteries, infrared range, and timer buttons.

Troubleshooting for the physical remote control that ships with some devices.

Why does the remote control not control the device?

  1. New remote: make sure the plastic insulation strip inside the battery compartment is pulled out.
  2. Infrared remotes: make sure the remote is within the effective control distance and that the infrared head of the remote is aligned with the infrared receiver on the device.
  3. It may be due to a low battery — try replacing the batteries.

What do the 1H, 2H, etc. buttons on the remote mean?

1H means the lights turn off after one hour, 2H after two hours, and so on.

How do I know I successfully set the timer?

Setting the timer with the remote control will trigger a light reminder — such as a flashing white light or a flashing-off cue. This indicates the timer has been set successfully.
